Plant vs Zombies 2

Plants vs. Zombies 2 – play the time traveling addictive blockbuster sequel!INSTALL
Plants vs. Zombies 2 is the update to the original Plants vs. Zombies. There is now a time-travel related theme meaning that you fight the undead with horticulture across various centuries. There are new plants to use, new zombies and new boosts. Crazy Dave is also back, still crazy. If you enjoyed the first version of the game, I’m sure you’ll want to check the game out. However, there are ‘upgrades’ that are not so welcome…

Pros & Cons:

Pros
  • Impressive graphics!
  • Good music and sound effects!
  • Lots of levels!
  • New theme and lots of new content!
Cons
  • In app purchases are pretty oppressive.
  • Occasional crashes.

Features:

Plants vs. Zombies 2 brings back the popular strategy defense game. In this new and refreshed title, you get to explore time itself, fighting zombies along the way. This means lots more levels, more plants to fight with, more upgrades, more zombie-types and more bonus content. You travel around in a funky time-machine van, accompanied by Crazy Dave (your nutty neighbor from the first game) and a new compulsion to destroy the undead where andwhenever you find them.

The graphics are automatically familiar but at the same time crisper and sharper. Colors seem brighter and more varied so the overall effect is that the game genuinely feels like an upgrade. Sound too- strong in the first game- is equally impressive in Plants vs Zombies 2. These, along with the familiar gameplay and controls, create a game that is easy to play, fun and immediately recognizable yet also shiny and new.
Like the original game, this is very addictive and hard to put down once you get into it…
You make your way through several levels, which introduce new plants as you go and gradually move from time period to time period. The game is free to download and play and isn’t riddled with adverts (thankfully), but you will need to make serious in app purchases to make significant progress through the game. There’s plenty of gameplay to be had beforehand, but with purchase options of £69.99 (around $110) labelled as ‘Best Deal’, you have to wonder just how greedy EA are.

One other issue I noted was the way the game sometimes crashes. This didn’t happen often, but it was annoying and unexpected when it did. Aside from this I found Plants vs Zombies 2 to be pretty stable and, while it’s a little battery hungry, works and plays beautifully.

Like the original game, this is very addictive and hard to put down once you get into it. I did find the Crazy Dave episodes a little tiresome (I actually find him a bit annoying) but there are loads of levels to work through, each more challenging than the previous. There’s lots of content here- certainly more than in the first Plants and Zombies- and it is definitely a game you can become heavily absorbed in.
